What Should a Landing Page for a Repair Business Have?
A two-minute guide to the PunchyPage framework: the nine questions a homeowner asks before they call, and the ten sections that answer them in order.
Picture a homeowner with a broken garage door. They search on their phone, tap your ad, and land on your page. Before they call, they have questions. Your page has to answer them, in the order they ask.
Most landing pages are built around the business: who we are, what we do, a contact form at the bottom. But the person on the other side isn’t reading about you. They are making a decision.
So I built the page around their decision instead. I call it the PunchyPage framework.
The nine questions, in order
- 1Am I in the right place?
- 2Can they fix my problem?
- 3Can I trust them?
- 4Do they actually do this work?
- 5Why them, not others?
- 6How does it work?
- 7Who are these people?
- 8Is it safe to go ahead?
- 9How do I contact them?
Every section on the page has one job: answer one of those questions. Here is how they line up.
| The section that answers it | |
|---|---|
| Right place? | Hero: service + location in the headline |
| Fix my problem? | Signs you need a repair (a checklist) |
| Trust them? | Trust bar at the top + trust panel |
| Do this work? | Before-and-after photos of real jobs |
| Why them? | Comparison: other repairers first, then us |
| How does it work? | Three simple steps |
| Who are they? | A photo and a short local story |
| Safe to go ahead? | FAQ: cost, time, suburbs, what if it fails |
| Contact them? | One call button, repeated down the page |
What I learned
The principle
Don’t make the visitor go looking for the answer. Put it where the question comes up.
This page is not your whole website. Your website is still home for people who want to look around. A PunchyPage is the focused page for people who arrive from an ad, a QR code or a referral, already knowing what they need.
In the next guides I’ll go through each section one by one: the headline, the button, the trust bar and the rest.
Try this today
- Open your landing page on your phone
- Read only the first screen
- Does it answer “Am I in the right place?” and “Can they fix my problem?”
- Can you call with one tap without scrolling?
