Hi team,
Your website is one of the prettiest in Rouse Hill, your newest Google reviews are glowing, and your tracking is set up better than most I see. Parents who find you like what they see.
Three things hold it back: the photos make it slow on a phone, the things that make Wattlebrook different are hard to find, and the star rating Google shows still carries the years before Wattlebrook. Here's what I found, and what good practice looks like.

01What's working
You have a lot that other centres would love: a brand parents warm to, real reasons to choose you, and happy families saying so. Keep all of this.
02Your Google profile and reviews
Parents usually meet your Google profile before your website: the stars and the first few reviews are often what decides whether they look further.

03How you show up on Google
When parents search Google, the first page is where nearly all the clicks go. Here's where your 106 searches sit today, across Australia.

Where you rank now
Google's Australia-wide rankings and monthly searches, from DataForSEO, 22 October 2026.
What parents nearby search for
Searches a month, from Google's own advertising data. Each suburb is its own small group of parents looking now.
Many more parents simply search “childcare near me” (49,500 a month across Australia), where Google's map decides who they see.
04You and the centres around you
Rouse Hill is crowded: six other long day care centres within a few minutes. On Google's map, three of them take the places almost every time.

The map, on a phone near Rouse Hill
Google ranks its map on relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews are a big part of prominence. Five of these centres are within a kilometre of you, so distance barely separates you: your rating is what sets you apart, and today it sets you back.
Visits and first-page counts are Google's estimates for Australia, from DataForSEO, 22 October 2026. Starling Kids' figures cover all their centres; the national chains (Honeycomb Kids, First Steps, Hillside Montessori) are left out for the same reason.
05Your words: is the message clear?
In the first few seconds a parent wants to know: is this near me, does it take my child's age, and why this centre over the one down the road. Your home page answers the first two. The third is there, but far down.
06Your website on a phone
Most parents look for childcare on their phone, often with a child on their hip. Here are the first screens of your home page, as an iPhone shows them.
12345- 1Your phone number, one tap to call.
- 2General words first, where what makes Wattlebrook different should be.
- 3Book a tour, on the first screen.
- 4A real photo of your centre.
- 5More general words (Our Philosophy) before any practical facts.
The whole home page is 13 phone screens long, and most of its text is 14 pixels: small for tired eyes. 16 is the comfortable minimum. The site also stops people zooming in with their fingers, which makes small text harder still.
07Your website on a computer
1234- 1Your name and suburb, big and clear, beside a real photo of the centre.
- 2Book a tour, in the first screen.
- 3Light, small text on green: lovely to look at, hard to read.
- 4Where the hidden “Your Title Goes Here” heading sits.
08Page speed
Your home page on a typical 4G phone, against the marks Google uses.

3.5 MB

The words appear quickly, but the main picture takes almost 12 seconds, three times Google's “poor” mark. Many parents won't wait. The cause is simple: the photos are far bigger than a phone needs. One alone is 854 KB.
Best practice: each photo saved at the size it's shown, in a modern format (WebP), usually under 200 KB. Your photos would look the same.
Timed on 22 October 2026 in Chromium, as a phone on 1.6 Mbps with 150 ms delay, cache empty; the middle of three runs.
09Tracking: can you see what's working?
To know which searches, ads and pages bring families to a tour, a website needs to count visits and, more importantly, tour bookings.
10Best-practice checklist
The basics every business website should have, checked on yours.
11What to keep, what to improve
The look, the tracking and the suburb pages are right. Most of what's left is small, careful work. In the order I'd take them:
Keep
Improve first
Improve next
